What are you doing when you lose track of time, forget to eat and put off taking that nap?  

 

Sculpture beat out scads of failed attempts at silver-smithing, knitting, pottery, painting, guitar, fermenting, oh and the list goes on.  It still competes with gardening, walking Gus and Walter the powerhouse yorkies, and roller-blading; oh yes, and my day job.

Alas, I find something wildly satisfying about starting with a nameless block of clay and an idea...then letting the idea have it's own idea about what it wants to be.  I'm fascinated by people and the stories in the creases of their faces, the emotion in their eyes, the contradiction in that they carry.
